Yolanda y José Luis forman una de las parejas más dulces que he tenido el placer de fotografiar. Ambos son el tipo de persona que transmite pura bondad y alegría a su alrededor, y tuve la suerte de conocerlos cuando mi amigo Albert me pidió acompañarle a su preboda (y más tarde a su boda, que estaré publicando muy pronto).

Como no podía ser de otro modo, ese día tuvimos un clima perfecto en Madrid. La luz en las fotos es maravillosa, aunque ahora dudo de si era la luz del ambiente o la luz que emanaba de esta pareja tan llena de amor. Muchísimas gracias a Albert por permitirme el honor de acompañarle, y a Yolanda y José Luis por mostrarle a mi lente toda esa dulzura, esa felicidad pura que amo fotografiar. Aquí los tienen.

Yolanda and Jose Luis make one of the sweetest couples I’ve had the pleasure to photograph. They are both the kind of people that transmit kindness and joy around them, and I was lucky enough to meet them when my friend Albert invited me to join him for their engagement session (and also to their wedding, which I’ll be publishing very soon). 

As it could not be any other way, we had a perfect weather in Madrid that day. The light in the photographs is amazing, although now that I think about it, I’m starting to doubt wether it was ambient light or just the light that emanated from this couple, so full of love. Thank you very much to Albert for allowing me the honor of accompanying him, and to Yolanda and Jose Luis for showing my lens all that sweetness, that pure happiness that I love so much to photograph. La semana pasada Luis y yo tuvimos la oportunidad de pasar unos días en Los Ángeles, y me fascinó su aura relajado, su gente surfista y alegre, sus preciosas playas, sus palmeras infinitas pero sobre todo, me impresionó la luz de sus atardeceres. Nunca antes había estado en la Costa Oeste pero ver el sol ponerse sobre el mar es un espectáculo único. Recomiendo totalmente visitarla, aunque hacía un poco de frío y no pudimos bañarnos en la playa, seguro que en verano es espectacular!

Last week Luis and I had the opportunity to spend a few days in Los Angeles, and I loved its relaxed aura, its happy surfers, its beautiful beaches, its infinite palm trees but above all, I was amazed by the light of its sunsets. I have never been in the West Coast before, but seeing the sun set over the ocean is a unique sight. I totally recommend to visit it, although it was a bit cold and we couldn’t bathe in the ocean, I am sure it must be spectacular in the summer!

Un precioso vestido de novia de encaje, una sesión de fotografías de novios en un ambiente campestre y bajo la luz del atardecer, una decoración “de película”… así fue la boda de Soraya y John, a la cual tuve el placer de asistir gracias a la invitación de mi amigo Albert a acompañarle.

A beautiful lace wedding dress, a bride and groom photo shoot outside, in a field under the sunset light, a “movie-like” decoration… so was the wedding of Soraya and John, which I had the pleasure to attend thanks to the invitation of my friend Albert.

La decoración del salón tuvo el toque personal de la pareja, quienes decidieron utilizar sus películas favoritas para designar las mesas de los invitados. Me encanta cuando las parejas personalizan su boda, haciéndola única!!

The ball room decoration had the personal touch of the couple, whom decided to use their favorite movie titles to designate each guest table. I love it when couples personalize their wedding using details, making it unique!!

La hermana de la novia dio un precioso discurso, que no dejó un ojo seco en toda la sala (creo que Albert puede dar fe de ello!), luego de lo cual Soraya y John bailaron con sus invitados toda la noche. Muchísimas gracias a esta hermosa pareja y a su familia por tratarnos como un par de invitados más, y a mi gran amigo Albert como siempre, un gran abrazo.

The bride’s sister gave a beautiful speech, that did not leave one dry eye in the room (I think Albert can second that!), after which Soraya and John danced the night away with their guests. I want to thank this beautiful couple and their family for treating us as two more guests, and to my good friend Albert as always, a big hug.

Hoy vuelvo a sentir esa misma felicidad, ya que la boda de estas dos personas tan maravillosas y dulces ha sido publicada en la edición número 26 de la revista Todoboda!! no puedo sino agradecer a Ana y a Dani una vez más su confianza, su cariño, y al fantástico grupo de Todoboda el haberme permitido formar parte de algo tan hermoso. Es la primera vez que mi trabajo es publicado en una revista impresa de bodas, y puede sonar cursi, pero este es realmente un sueño hecho realidad para mí. Mil gracias a todos los que lo hicieron posible: Ana y Dani, Silvia y Dayana, mil gracias.

The first time I met Ana and Dani, we spent half the afternoon talking, about their wedding, yes, but also about their travels, about our lives… and I felt this simple and happy couple could easily become my friends. After several hours talking and laughing, we said our goodbyes and agreed they would give me a call as soon as they reached a decision (about having me photograph their wedding day or not). I hadn’t got home yet when I received Ana’s call, telling me that they did want me to accompany them on their wedding day. I felt incredibly happy.

Today, I feel just as happy, since this awesome sweet couple’s wedding has been published in the 26th printed edition of Todoboda’s magazine!! I can’t but thank Ana and Dani once again for their trust and their friendship, and Todoboda’s amazing group for allowing me to be a part of something this beautiful. It is the first time my work is featured in a printed wedding magazine and, at the risk of sounding cheesy, this is really a dream come true for me. Thank you so much to all who made it possible: Ana and Dani, Silvia and Dayana, thank you.

Yanina & Rafael son el tipo de personas que todo fotógrafo sueña con tener como clientes. Una novia guapa y coqueta, un novio sonriente y de ojos azules, ambos alegres, dulces y simpáticos a más no poder. Cuando los conocí sentí que, más que una pareja de novios, este par se convertiría en mis amigos, y me alegra decir que no me equivoqué. Lamentablemente no pude acompañarles el día de su boda (¡me mudé a México!) pero disfruté muchísimo con ellos fotografiar esta preboda estilo vintage.

Yani, Rafa, no saben cuánto les agradezco todo ese cariño, espero que hayan disfrutado su día como lo merecen y que sean infinitamente felices juntos. Espero que nos veamos pronto, les dejo con estas fotos y un abrazo gigantesco.

Yanina and Rafael are the kind of people that every photographer dreams of photographing. A gorgeous and chic bride, a blue-eyed groom with a big smile, both of them joyful, super sweet and nice. When I met them, I felt that more than a bride and a groom, these two would become my friends, and I’m happy to say I wasn’t wrong. Sadly I couldn’t acompany them on their wedding day (I moved to Mexico!) but I had a great time photographing this vintage-styled engagement session for them.

Yani, Rafa, you guys don’t know how much I appreciate all your kindness and your friendship, I hope you enjoyed your big day as you deserve and that you live a life filled with happiness and love together. I hope we meet again soon, I leave you with these photos and a huge hug.

Hay parejas que dan la sensación de estar perfectamente sincronizadas. Parejas que se comunican sin palabras, a través de ese wifi mental que une a las personas que lo saben todo del otro, y eso les hace amarse aún más. Este tipo de interconexión sólo la alcanzan las personas más afortunadas, y se nota que Ana y Dani la tienen.

En el pueblo de Ana, La Granja de San Ildefonso, en Segovia, rodeados por los hermosos jardines del Palacio Real, e iluminados por la cálida luz que se colaba a través de los vitrales de la Real Colegiata, Ana y Dani recibieron la Bendición de Dios y juraron mantener ese amor, ese respeto, y esa conexión invisible pero completamente perceptible a todos los que les rodean, por el resto de sus vidas… rodeados de sus familiares y amigos, quienes llenaron el día de una alegría contagiosa, y nos hicieron sentir a Luis y a mí como un par de invitados más.

A esta pareja tan cálida, cariñosa, con quienes al sentarte a conversar puedes pasarte horas y horas sin darte cuenta, les deseo de todo corazón toda una vida llena de felicidad y armonía, de éxitos y de viajes, siempre juntos. Gracias chicos, por la confianza y por el cariño. Miles de abrazos.

Some couples give the impression of being completely in sync. Couples that communicate without words, through that mental wifi that is shared by people who know everything there is to know about the other one, and that makes them love each other so much more. This kind of connection is only achieved by those most fortunate, and it is obvious that Ana and Dani have it.

In the town of Ana’s family, La Granja de San Ildefonso, in Segovia, surrounded by the beautiful Royal Palace Gardens and illuminated by the warm light that found its way in through the Real Colegiata’s colored glasses, Ana and Dani received God’s blessing and swore to keep that love, that respect and that invisible but very perceptible connection, for the rest of their lives… surrounded by their family and friends, who filled the day with a contagious joy, and made Luis and me feel like two more guests. 

To this warm, loving couple, with whom you can spend hours sitting and talking without even knowing it, I wish with all my heart a life filled with hapiness and harmony, with sucesses and travel, always together. Thanks a lot guys, for the trust and for the warmth. Thousands of hugs for you two. 

Recuerdan el precioso Porsche que utilizaron los novios en su preboda? miren qué guapo lo han decorado para la boda!!

A veces la vida nos hace cambiar los planes de una manera repentina (y generalmente esto es algo bueno), y ahora mismo me encuentro en una situación de ese tipo. En mi otro trabajo, el de ingeniero, (¿ya les he dicho que además de fotógrafo soy ingeniero?) me han ofrecido una oportunidad en México D.F. y luego de mucho pensarlo, Luis (que también es ingeniero, y a quien por suerte también le hicieron una oferta en D.F.) y yo, decidimos que lo mejor para nuestro futuro sería aceptarla. Así que luego de un par de estresantes y emotivas semanas, más un vuelo de 11,5 horas… aquí estamos!!

La verdad es que todo fue muy repentino y en principio el traslado será temporal, pero conociendo la naturaleza de este tipo de proyectos creo que los “3 meses” que me ofrecieron inicialmente terminarán convirtiéndose en mucho más tiempo… por lo cual debo rechazar por el momento las bodas en España. Y dejar a mi hermana, mi cuñado, a mis primos y los maravillosos amigos que hice allí. Y esta es la parte que me hizo llorar.

Lamento de todo corazón que no tuve tiempo ni de despedirme como se debe de la mayoría de ustedes, pero como les dije, desde el momento en que me confirmaron el viaje hasta el día del vuelo prácticamente hubo un par de semanas. Y en ese tiempo tuve que ir al trabajo 8 horas, y el resto del día organizar toda mi vida para meterla en 3 maletas. Ya se imaginarán.

Y por ahora nada más, les dejo con mis más sinceras disculpas, abrazos, buenos deseos y esperanzas de volverles a ver lo más pronto posible. Y con el compromiso de seguir persiguiendo este sueño, aunque sea aquí, al otro lado del mar, así que no dejen de volver a visitar el blog que seguro utilizaré para contarles sobre esta nueva aventura.

Mil gracias por todo, a ustedes, a todo el cariño que recibí en estos 3 años, a los grandes amigos que hice, a las bellas personas que me permitieron captar un poquito de sus almas con mi cámara, a los compañeros fotógrafos que me brindaron siempre su invaluable amistad, ayuda y apoyo, a mi amada España, y a mi hermosa Madrid, mil gracias. A todos me los traigo para siempre en el corazón.

¿Recordáis el sorteo de una sesión preboda que hicimos en el blog Diario de Bodas? ¡Pues aquí tenéis los resultados! La sesión preboda de Noelia y Pepe, que fue después de su boda, y que estuvo llena de sonrisas, alegría, de una luz espectacular, y sobre todo de amor.

Noelia y Pepe son una pareja estupenda, no sólo son guapos sino muy alegres y amables. Creo que Luis y yo nos reímos tanto o más que ellos ese día, detrás de nuestras cámaras. Chicos, muchísimas gracias por permitirnos captar un poquito de esa alegría que caracteriza vuestro amor. Nos lo pasamos genial con vosotros, y ya sabéis que nos tenéis aquí cuando estéis por Madrid. Muchos abrazos!!

Do you remember the engagement session giveaway we did on Diario de Bodas blog? Here are the results! Noelia and Pepe’s engagement session (which was actually after their wedding), and was filled with smiles, joy, a wonderful light and above all, with love.

Noelia and Pepe are a wonderful couple, not only gorgeous but very joyful and nice. I believe Luis and I laughed as much as them (or maybe more!) behind our cameras. Guys, thanks a lot for allowing us to capture a bit of that happiness that characterizes your love. We had a wonderful time with you, and you know we are here whenever you come to Madrid. Big hugs!

-Me caso de azul, es mi color-, me dijo Catharina mientras se preparaba para vestirse el día de su boda. -Cuando era pequeña, en navidad, mi madre me obligaba a vestir de rojo y me ponía de mal humor- rió mientras me contaba. -Tal vez fui un pez en la vida pasada, amo el mar y su color-. Así que su boda no podía ser otra que una preciosa boda llena de azul, junto al hermoso mar de Alicante.

Fue una boda muy internacional. Mientras la familia de la novia se comunicaba en sueco, la familia del novio en francés, nosotros hablábamos con ellos en inglés, y entre nosotros, en español. Pero todos entendimos ese “algo” que era común y traspasaba las barreras del idioma: el amor y la felicidad que se respiraba en el ambiente.

Catharina & Tayeb ahora forman una familia, y de todo corazón les deseo una vida entera de felicidad juntos. De nuevo, muchísimas gracias por hacernos sentir, a Luis y a mí, como un par de invitados más en esa celebración tan especial. Abrazos a los dos.

-I’m wearing a blue wedding dress, it’s my color-, Catharina told me as she prepared to get dressed on her wedding day. -When I was a little girl, in Christmas, my mother made me wear red dresses, and it made me so angry!- she laughed as she told me. -Maybe I was a fish in a past life, I love the sea and its color-. So her wedding could not be other than a beautiful blue-filled wedding, by the gorgeous Alicante sea.

It was quite an international wedding. While the bride’s family spoke in Swedish, the groom’s family spoke in French, we spoke to them in English and, between us, in Spanish. But everyone understood that one thing that was common and overcame the barriers of language: the love and happiness that filled the entire day.

Catharina & Tayeb, you two are now one family, and with all my heart I hope you share a life filled with happiness together. Again, thank you very much for making Luis and me feel like two more guests on such a special celebration. Hugs to both of you.
